Is My Child Well Enough To Go To School?
Your child must stay home if they have:
Fever of 100 degrees or higher (38 degrees Celsius)
Rash that has not yet been diagnosed
Vomiting/Vomited
Diarrhea
Your child may return to school:
24 hours after the last episode of vomiting or diarrhea
24 hours fever-free, without fever-reducing medicine(acetaminophen/ibuprofen)
Feels well enough to participate fully in school
Please follow these Minnesota Department of Health guidelines for managing illnesses such as influenza, respiratory viruses, and COVID:
Practice good hand hygiene and cover coughs and sneezes to limit the spread of illness.
Please keep your student(s) home if they are sick. Students can return to school when:
Their illness has subsided, or their symptoms have improved for 24 hours.
They have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without using fever-reducing medication.
After resuming normal activities, the CDC encouraged additional prevention strategies for the next five days to curb disease spread, such as taking more steps for cleaner air, enhancing hygiene practices, wearing a well-fitting mask, keeping a distance from others, and getting tested for respiratory viruses.
